چکیده
Abstract Animal personality is a relatively neglected field in amphibian research. In this study we assessed the influence of stomach flushing, non-lethal technique used dietary studies, on boldness behaviour cave salamander Speleomantes strinatii . The time emergence from shelter located an unfamiliar environment (a proxy for individual boldness) was measured 26 salamanders before and after while 14 non-flushed were tested as controls. Boldness repeatable larger individuals emerged their more rapidly than smaller ones. Linear mixed model analysis showed that sex body condition had no effect behaviour. These findings are promising framework personality. particular, our results will be useful when exploring relationship between trophic strategy boldness, aggression or exploration behaviours terrestrial salamanders.

Trophic polymorphism in a terrestrial salamander
Question: Does habitat heterogeneity promote trophic polymorphism in a terrestrial salamander? Hypothesis: Eastern red-backed salamanders (Plethodon cinereus) in upland and lowland habitats differ morphologically because their prey’s size differs between those habitats. Field site: Five mature hardwood forests in central New York and northern Pennsylvania, USA, with known differences in diet be...
متن کاملRare Absence of CD79alpha in B-ALLs is not Associated with Altered Prognosis
Background: The diagnosis of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) on the basis of the World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations in 2016 requires the expression of CD19 with CD79a (CD79a), cCD22 and CD10. CD79a is an integral B cell antigen expressed at all stages. Its absence in B-ALL has only been rarely reported. In this study, we described three cases of B-ALL showing complete l...
متن کاملHindlimb Kinematics during Terrestrial Locomotion in a Salamander (dicamptodon Tenebrosus)
A quantitative study of hindlimb kinematics during terrestrial locomotion in a non-specialized salamander was undertaken to allow comparisons with limb movements in other groups of tetrapods. Five Dicamptodon tenebrosus were videotaped at 200 fields s-1 walking on a treadmill. Coordinates of marker points on the salamander's midline, pelvic girdle and left hindlimb were digitized through at lea...
متن کاملProteinaceous pheromone affecting female receptivity in a terrestrial salamander.
A 22-kilodalton protein was isolated from the submandibular (mental) gland of the male terrestrial salamander, Plethodon jordani (family: Plethodontidae). This proteinaceous pheromone, termed plethodontid receptivity factor (PRF), was experimentally delivered to the female during courtship and shown to increase female receptivity. In most plethodontid salamanders, ovulation occurs weeks or mont...
